The Slow Curves limited edition photographs were initially inspired by the line, “the slow curve of a woman’s cheekbone,” from Mitch Rainey’s poem Wedding by the Sea. This, in turn, inspired me to write the following poem, Slow Curves, which has guided me throughout the creation of this work:
slow curves . . .
song of Gaia’s visual voice:
winding stream, swept cypress, cresting surf,
spiral shell, cursive rose, arched spine,
pelvic sculpture, rounded hip,
all in her essential, female form.
strong, subtle, sensual, flowing.
slow curves
The limited edition photographs employ unusual studio lighting and processing techniques to create soft, ethereal, tasteful, nude female photographs. They are printed on slightly textured paper and resemble ethereal drawings.
