The Slow Curves limited edition photographs were initially inspired by the line, “the slow curve of a woman’s cheekbone,” from Mitch Rainey’s poem Wedding by the Sea. This, in turn, inspired me to write the following poem, Slow Curves, which has guided me throughout the creation of this work:
slow curves . . .
song of Gaia’s visual voice:
winding stream, swept cypress, cresting surf,
spiral shell, cursive rose, arched spine,
pelvic sculpture, rounded hip,
all in her essential, female form.
strong, subtle, sensual, flowing.
slow curves
